A member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Lemon Grove for over 22 years, Jim served the church in many ways and was a Knight of Columbus. He loved to paint watercolors, do gardening, was a long-time member of the CDA bowling league, and loved to travel in his motor home. Blessed are those who have died in the Lord; let them rest from their labors for their good deeds go with them.

Eternal rest grant unto James, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen. May his soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, Rest in Peace. Amen.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. II Timothy 4:7-8

My condolences to Jim Anderson's family and friends.

Jim and I came in the Knights of Columbus Council together at St. John's Catholic parish 13 years ago. All who knew him referred to him as a 'Nice Guy' that was always concerned about others before himself. I visited him the day before he passed away, and we reflected on our years as friends, helping each other out in our ministries at the church.I called him on 'Holy Thursday' and each day afterwards when I found out that he was in the hospital. I made sure that he received communion on that day of my visit because I knew that was important to him. I was on my way to visit him the day he passed away.

He loved everyone he met, and my grief is the grief of his family and friends. I'm proud to have worked with him in church, and the opportunity to tell him that I love him over the years.

In a dream several days after he passed away, Jim told me "Don't grieve, I'm in a better place".....He's with Jesus my friends, and he wants us to celebrate what he meant to us, as oppose to him not being with us physically. That's the Jim I/We know!!...To Jenny and Deborah? That's the message that Jim wanted me to give you.

God Bless Jim...He's forever in our hearts,

I did not know Mr. Jim Anderson, but only knew about him from his grandson Derek Dennis. It is sure that Mr. Anderson was a distinguished man and a man of faith. He served his church, country, and family most honorably. He will be sadly missed. Well done, thou Faithful Servant. Enter into your reward.
