Edna Pauline Reece

Mrs. Edna Pauline Reece, 90, of Lenoir passed away on August 11, 2019 at Lenoir Healthcare in Lenoir.

Mrs. Reece was born December 1, 1928 in Mtn. City TN to the late Roy McElyea and Betty Hoseclaw McElyea.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Dean Reece, three brothers, Woodrow, Howard and Lee McElyea, a sister Rhoda Hilton, and two nephews, James Kilby and Tom Isaacs.

Edna was employed by Singer Furniture and then by Jack B Quick where she later retired from. She was a very kind and generous person who enjoyed caring for others and taking care of those who were sick.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Carolyn Wilson and husband Bob of Boone, grandchildren, Cara Lee and Robert Wilson, sister, Margaret Trivette of Mtn. City TN, nieces, Nancy Kilby, Sue Robertson, Betty Jane Cress, Betty DeBord, Carolyn Roberts and Betsy Lail.

A graveside service to honor Mrs. Reece will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home, then meet at the cemetery at 2:00 pm for the service.
