He was born on December 22, 1942 to the late Millard and Jettie Slate.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his ten brothers and sisters.
Mr. Slate was an Interior Decorator and was loved by many. He enjoyed traveling in his spare time.
Those left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Arther Slate and wife Mary Lee of Lenoir, and Kenneth Slate and wife Rachel of Trinity NC; sister, Ann Leonard of Thomasville NC.
A memorial service to honor Mr. Luther Ray Slate will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home with Michael Slate and Kenneth Slate officiating.
