LEWISTON- Denise L. Lajoie, 84, of Lewiston died Tuesday evening January 8, 2012 at Montello Heights. She was born in Lewiston, Maine on October 29, 1928 the daughter of Joseph and Laure (Levesque) Lajoie. She graduated from Lewiston High School and immediately pursued her career as Deputy City Clerk for the City of Lewiston and worked there for thirty-seven years until her retirement in February of 1987. Shortly after her retirement, Denise found her passion for art, having given her art pieces to all of her nieces and nephews. She also found another hobby in quilting, belonging to the “Classic Quilters”. Besides her art and quilting, she also enjoyed reading, sewing, singing, dancing and traveling. She is survived by her sisters Lucille Lajoie Terrio and Florence Lajoie Potvin. Denise will be sadly missed by all of her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers Antonio, Lucien, Gerard, Paul and Laureat; and by her sister Jeanne Lajoie Boucher.
