LEWISTON: Monique L. Langlois, 83, of Lewiston peacefully passed away on Sunday March 18, 2018 at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston with her loving sons by her side. She was born in Lewiston on October 7, 1934 a daughter of the late George and Regina (Gauthier) Roux. She grew up in the Lewiston area and attended local schools there. On July 4, 1962 she married Leopold Langlois of Berlin, NH at Holy Family Church in Lewiston. They made their home in Berlin and Monique worked as a Pharmacy Technician for St. Louis Hospital there for several years. During that time, she had two sons and proudly raised her family in the Berlin area before moving back to Maine many years later. She was devoted in her practice of the Catholic faith and was a daily communicant. She will also be remembered for her love of art. She was a gifted painter and did some creative art with wood burning as well. She will be deeply missed by many.
She is survived by her two sons; Dominican Father, Rev. John Langlois, O.P., of Washington, DC, and Alan Langlois and his husband Steven Mitchell of San Miguel Dueñas, Guatemala. She also leaves behind her seven siblings; Rita Galipeau, Jeanne Vaillancourt, Yvonne Roux, Florence Boulet, Lucille Tremblay, Paul Roux and Fr. Albert Roux all of Lewiston along with her sister-in-law, Julienne Nicoletti of Manchester, NH.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Leopold Langlois in 2010. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.thefortingrouplewiston.com
Visiting hours will be held at Fortin\Lewiston on Wednesday March 21, 2018 from 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 22, 2018 at 11am at the Basilica of Ss. Peter & Paul (Upper Church) followed by committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lewiston.
