LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Luke Matthews King, 59, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to Pawmetto Lifeline, 1275 Bower Pkwy., Columbia, SC 29212 or a charity of one’s choice.
Mr. King was born February 5, 1959 in Newberry, SC, and passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018. He was a son of the late Dr. William Wyman King, Jr. and Adele Allston King. Mr. King graduated from Newberry High School in 1977 and from the University of South Carolina in 1981 Cum Laude, after which he went on to obtain his MBA. He grew up in Newberry, but lived in Lexington. He worked for NCR as the Director of Product Management and established Goodfellas Bar and Grill, as well as South Lake Marine in Lexington. He was a member of United Methodist Church in Newberry.
Mr. King is survived by his brother, Bill King (Laurie McCrackin King); nephew, Wyman King; step-mother, Brenda King; step-sisters, Rosemary Arthur (Cliff), Angie Taylor (Tim); step-nieces, Megan, Mary Ashley and step-nephews, Will and Walker. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Janice Adele King.
