Marvin “Buzz” E. Huxtable Jr. 76 passed away Sunday Nov. 27, 2016 in his home in Liberty, Mo. Marvin was born March 26, 1940 to the late Marvin Sr. and Dorothy (Amos) Huxtable in Holt, MO. He is 2nd born of 6 children, graduating from Lathrop High School in 1959. Marvin served in the Army in Vietnam as a helicopter mechanic. He met his beautiful wife Nancy Carson a few short years after returning home from Vietnam and they were married February 15, 1969. From there he spent 14 years building Kenworth trucks at K-W Dart until they closed their doors. Then he spent several years doing different jobs including Car detailing at Heffner’s Auto, press and rewind at Liberty Tape and Label, headliner assembly at Woodbridge and finally retiring from Liberty Public Schools as a Custodian. He has spent his life working hard to provide for his family. Marvin loved his family and friends and he loved to tell jokes and make people smile, enjoyed spending time in his garden each summer, woodworking, playing horseshoes, watching baseball and football and playing his guitar. Marvin is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy Huxtable of the home, 2 daughters Mikki Huxtable (from a previous marriage) of Liberty, MO and Cindi Gabbert of Liberty, MO, 1 son Marvin “Eddie” Huxtable of Liberty, MO, and 2 step sons and daughter in laws, John and Lynn Carson of Sugar Hill, GA, Billy and Suzan Carson of Kearney, MO. 10 grandkids and 13 great-grandkids. 2 sisters Bessie May Snitker of Holt, MO, Mildred George of Warsaw, MO, a brother John Birch “JayBird” Huxtable of Kearney, MO along with other loving nieces, nephews and relatives. He is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Morris Eugene “Gene” Huxtable and an infant brother Billy Rex, along with a sister Anna Wade. Memorial services for Marvin will be held on Saturday Dec. 3, 2016 at 2pm at Church Archer-Pasley 119 E Franklin St. Liberty, Mo 64068. Friends may visit with family from 1pm-2pm Sat Dec 3, 2016 before the services. Burial will follow at Lathrop Cemetery on Clinton St. Lathrop, Mo 64465. Friends and family are welcome for a potluck style dinner at the Assembly of God Church in Lathrop, MO immediately following the graveside service to warm up and visit.
