Clifton Julius Humble, 85, of Liberty passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Randolph Hospice House.

He was member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and a founding member of Kimesville Volunteer Fire Department where he was the first recipient of “Fireman of the Year”. Clifton retired from P. Lorillard Tobacco. He loved his family, farming and flying remote controlled air planes.

A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 4400 Alamance Church Road, Liberty, with Rev. Keith Edwards and Rev. David Neff officiating; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

Clifton was the son of the late Ernest Virgil and Cora Smith Humble and was also preceded in death by five sisters, Virginia Apple, Marie Smith, Clearl York, Ernestine Humble and Lillian Holt; and two brothers, Howard and Vestal Humble.

Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Hilda Greeson Humble; daughters, Shelia Weisner, Sharon Caudle and her husband, Jeff, and Angelia Vaughan; sons, Clifton Douglas Humble and his wife, Jean, and Gregory Humble and his wife, Jan; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
