Mary Lee Ashley

Mary Lee Coble Shoffner Ashley, 85, of Liberty, after a long illness and surrounded by family went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington.

Mary enjoyed her church, being with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Smithwood Christian Church, 6809 Kimesville Road, Liberty, NC with Reverend Howard Spray officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. At other times the family will be at the home of Bobby and Mary Jo Ray.

She is the daughter of the late James Olney and Jennie Allred Coble and was also preceded in death by her husbands, Joe Dale Shoffner, B.L. Shoffner and J.J. Ashley; daughter, Karen Lynn Graves; two sisters, Hazel Stutts and Georgia Pike; brother, James O. Coble, Jr. and granddaughter, Laura Elizabeth Greeson.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Mary Jo Ray and husband Bobby of Liberty, Betsy Rich and husband Thomas (Tom) of Graham, and Bonnie Faye Greeson and husband R.B of Liberty; son-in law, Rudy Graves of Burlington; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
