
Arlene Jane Rash died on Monday, March 28, 2016. Arlene was born near Bartlesville, Oklahoma on April 24, 1918. She was one of ten children born to George and Ella (Byrd) Morrison. Arlene was married to her beloved Sherman Lee Rash for fifty-three years and worked beside her husband at the 13th & Q Streets Tastee Inn for many years before becoming the office administrator at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Department of Philosophy. Arlene, a long-time "walker" on the Memorial Park Trail, also enjoyed her years of volunteer work at the College View Senior Center, Helping Hands, and, especially, her 25 years at the State Capitol Building Information Booth. Arlene is survived by her daughters Sherene (Chuck) Salem and Pam (Rick) Reinhardt; grandsons Chad (Hallie Smith) Salem, Ryan (Lindsay Nelson) Salem, Christopher Salem, Jeffrey (Sarah Otte) Salem, Lee Reinhardt and Adam (Jalaina Handa) Reinhardt; and great-grandchildren Ella, Keira, Grayson, Lily, Claudia, Gemma, William, and Michael Salem, and Quincy Reinhardt. Arlene was preceded in death by husband Sherman Rash, granddaughter Sarah Jane Salem and great-granddaughter Anna Rose Salem. Her family has many wonderful memories of "Mom" and "Grandma." The family is very grateful for the care she was given during her time at Grace Pointe on the Tabitha Campus. Special thanks, also, for the heartfelt Hospice care she received.
