Connelly “CP” Parker, 59, passed away Sunday, December 10th, 2017. After a long battle, CP died too young from Glioblastoma. No one was surprised to hear that CP stubbornly and ferociously fought his disease for 20 months, pushing harder every day until his last. CP passed peacefully in his home, surrounded by his wife, daughters, family, and two new grandchildren.
CP enjoyed to work. He worked hard in his final days, even after diagnosis (and the dismay of his doctors). He believed a man could be measured by his work ethic, and proved this daily. Fate brought CP to Whitney Blair, with Jeff and Lisa Sanderson, where his work became his family.
CP loved running, boating, a good drink, and his family. CP completed three marathons, and continued to run every morning until his last days. He had three daughters that were his whole world; it was undeniable his love for them, and he gave everything he had to all three. CP was married to his wife, Tami for 19 years, who stayed by his side through it all.
CP was the kind of guy that would give anyone the shirt off of his back, asking for nothing in return. He received a Carnegie Medal for saving a drowning man’s life, and despite this unbelievably heroic act, wanted none of the attention that came with it. CP would often do for others, but wanted nothing done for him. CP made a lasting impression and everyone that met him, loved him.
As he often said, “I’ve been rich and I’ve been poor, but it’s most important to be happy.”
Born on June 26, 1958 in Burlington, NC, he was the son of Connelly P. and Ann Howell Parker, Sr.
Mr. Parker is survived by his wife Tami Ewart Parker; 3 daughters, Ashley Woolley (Chris), Sarah Phelps (Michael), Cameron Parker; and two grandchildren, Parker Woolley and Tripp Phelps. He is predeceased by one sister, Melinda Parker Ward.
