Raye S. Farrar, Jr., 49, of North Myrtle Beach, SC died in a motorcycle accident October 20, 2016.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Christina Rizzo, his son, Michael Raye Farrar and his daughter, Amy Lynn Farrar. He is also survived by his father, Raye S. Farrar, Sr. of Surprise, AZ, his brothers, Scott Farrar of Anoka, MN and Command Master Chief Christopher Farrar of San Diego, CA. He is predeceased by his mother, Sharon Jamieson of Clay, NY.

Raye was born April 18, 1967 in Syracuse, NY. He graduated from Cicero-North Syracuse High School in 1985. He attended SUNY Morrisville before joining the U.S. Navy. He served as an Electronics Technician (Submarine Warfare) on the USS Guitarro, SSN-665. After his discharge he worked different jobs including co-owning a computer repair shop and working cruise ships as a Casino Technician for the Norwegian Cruise Lines. He started his hotel career at the Syracuse Marriott in 1999 as a desk clerk, where he met his wife, Christina. Raye worked his way up the ranks in many different hotels in New York, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and North Carolina to General Manager. He settled in North Myrtle Beach, where he was Assistant to the Corporate General Manager at Avista Hotel.

The family will receive friends from 10 am to 12 Noon on Saturday, November 19 in Lee Funeral Home Chapel, 11840 Hwy 90, Little River, SC. He will be buried at sea in a private military service with full honors.

Memorial contributions are welcome will be put into a trust fund for his children, Michael and Amy, c/o Bank of America, 1339 Hwy 17 South, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582.
