William Earl Stroupe Jr, age 82, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, March 9, 2018 in Little River SC.
He was born on June 29, 1936 to his mother, Ruby M Stroupe and his father, William Earl Stroupe Sr.
“Earl” was often a man of few words, but, also had an uncanny ability to make friends with nearly everyone he met and enjoyed many life-long relationships established along his journeys. He had an easy wit that helped him share his love for life and adventure. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War, was a former police officer and fire fighter. Earl was a member of Fairview Lodge and a 32nd degree Master Mason. He was also a member of Oasis Shrine Temple. Earl was a graduate of Cleveland Community College and retired from Eaton Corp.
Earl is survived by his partner, Nell Coffey, his 5 children: Derice, Deneice, Donna, Ricky and Lissa, as well as, 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered as a light even during the darkest times, easily recognized by the devilish twinkle in his eye and a broad smile that took over his whole face every time he laughed.
A celebration of Earl’s life will be held on Monday, March 11, at 3:00 p.m. at Patio’s Bar and Grill. We hope all his friends will join us.
An additional memorial service is being planned to take place in King’s Mountain for a later date.
A guestbook is available at www.leefhandcrematory.com.
Lee Funeral Home & Crematory of Little River/North Myrtle Beach is serving the family.
