John Andrew Barrs
June 13, 1959 – May 7, 2022

IN THE CARE OF
Harry J Will Funeral Homes
John Andrew Barrs of Farmington Hills passed away unexpectedly in his residence on May 7, 2022. John was born in Kansas City, MO on June 13, 1959, the first son of Anderson E Barrs of Warrenville, SC and Patricia Ruth Barrs (Petock) of Lacygne, KS. John is survived by brother Joseph A Barrs and sister-in-law Linda Barrs. John was pre-deceased by both parents and sister, Patricia Elaine Barrs.
John’s father was retired US Air Force and the family moved around often, finally settling in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. John was a graduate of Lake Superior State University with a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. He established friendships lasting over thirty years working in the UP and continuing in the late eighties with the automotive industry. John was happiest helping others.
John had many interests and passions. He was a man who ‘loved life’. He spoke of his friends often and one feels that closeness, which makes this loss so significant. There is comfort in knowing that John was a person of faith and is in God’s care now
A memorial gathering for John will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Homes, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in John's memory may be made to American Diabetes Association and American Heart Association.
