My most sincere condolences to the entire O’Dowd family. I will remember John as a friendly, witty man who always had an interesting story to tell. I looked forward to seeing him at family functions and appreciated his warmth and genuine personality.

John was at Washers, Inc. when I started in 1985. I worked with him for many years and I remember him as always smiling and having something nice to say or a joke to tell. One day he told me a joke that he said was his favorite one and I still remember it to this day. He was always laughing and making the office a fun place to be when he was around. Rest in Peace John.

Dear Sharon and family:
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you, not just today but in the difficult days ahead.
I couldn't help but remember your wedding when Bernard was your ring bearer. Where has the time gone? I also remember John's smile, his stories, his ability to light up the conversation. He was a joyful person - and handsome too.
I will not be able to attend the Mass for John and the luncheon but rest assured I will keep you all in my prayers. God bless.

I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER MY BROTHER AS FEARLESS,KIND,FAMILY MAN AND HAD A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR. HE NEVER WAS AFRAID TO TACKLE SOMETHING NEW OR HARD. WE BOTH WORKED IN THE AUTOMOTIVE BUSINESS AND HE WAS WELL RESPECTED. THERE WAS ONE STATEMENT I ALWAYS REMEMBER WAS THAT FROM A BUYER WE BOTH KNEW THAT "JOHN WAS HONEST AND A STRAIGHT SHOOTER AND HE ALWAYS TOLD IT LIKE IT WAS, NEVER SUGAR COATING HIS PROBLEM WITH A PART OR IF IT WAS A CUSTOMER PROBLEM, PLUS HE HAD GREAT STORIES TO TELL". AFTER ALL ,OUR LIVES ARE MADE UP OF STORIES.
AS WE GOT OLDER, WE DEVELOPED DIFFERENT VIEWS AS BROTHERS GO, BUT, WE ALWAYS RESPECTED EACH OTHERS ALWAYS AND I KNOW WE NEVER HAD A ARGUMENT ABOUT THEM.
SOMETIMES PEOPLE MEASURE SUCCESS BY WHAT YOU HAVE IN ASSETS,NOT TRUE! JOHN WAS VERY SUCCESSFUL. HE MARRIED A GREAT GAL(SHARON), HE RAISED TWO GREAT SONS WHO LOVED HIM GREATLY. LIVED LONG ENOUGH TO SEE GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND TO ENJOY THEM. HE ALWAYS PROVIDED FOR HIS FAMILY. WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK OF ANY MAN? HE WAS LOVED BY FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
"JOHN, THANKS FOR BEING MY BROTHER".
