Lambert was preceded in death by his parents John P. and Anna (Wrobel) Leppek and his four sisters. Lambert is lovingly survived by his wife of 54 years, Krystyna, his children Adrianna (Kurt) Schulz and John (Janet) Leppek, and grandchildren Nathan Leppek, Sienna Schulz, and Jenna Leppek.
Born in 1926, Lambert grew up in Ubly, Michigan during the depression and worked on the family farm and gas station located right outside their front door. Lambert’s ambition was to be a teacher, but he was drafted into the Army after graduating from high school. He proudly served in WW II, stationed in the Philippines and Japan. After the war, he returned home to help on the family farm and drove the local school bus.
Lambert met Krystyna when she came to the US from Poland in 1965. They took long walks together, enjoyed the State Fair, and fell in love in the small town of Ubly. They were married in 1967 and raised their family in their first and only home in Livonia, Michigan. Lambert enjoyed bowling and bike riding, but his favorite passion was working in his pristine flower and vegetable garden. Lambert worked at the Ford Motor Company Wixom Plant for 23 years. After retirement, he and Krystyna enjoyed travelling, and Lambert parasailed for the first time at the age of 88.
In 2017, Lambert and Krystyna celebrated their Golden Anniversary in Ubly, Michigan. They reminisced with drinks at The Ubly Pub Lady Jane, which is where they had their wedding reception 50 years prior. They visited Lambert’s childhood home and the current owners gave them a tour of the house.
Lambert could often be found sitting in his back yard listening to the soothing sounds of the water fountain that he built, with a cigar and sipping cognac.
Lambert was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, filled with pride and love for his family.
