Donna Mae Westcott, 94, of Longmont, Colorado died peacefully Thursday, September 29th, 2022 at the Bridge Assisted Living Facility in Longmont. The family will gather for a private service in Moline, Illinois early next year. She will be laid to rest with her husband, George, at Rock Island National Cemetery in Rock Island, Illinois.
Donna was born in Moline, Illinois on May 19th, 1928, to Russell and Martha (Carlson) Lundahl. Donna graduated from Moline High School and Moline Institute of Commerce where she met her future husband. She married George (Bud) Westcott, February 26th, 1949 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Moline. They honeymooned in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. She worked as a secretary at Eagle Signal and John Deere Spreader Works before having children.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline for 86 years until she moved to Longmont where she became a member of First Lutheran Church. She was an active member in Lydia Circle at Trinity as well as a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of Via Crucis Circle of Kings Daughters, YWCA board, PTA president, and Boy Scout Den mother. She loved being a mom and enjoyed camping and traveling with family. Bud and Donna loved spending time in Bagley, WI. After retirement they enjoyed 10 winters in Sun City, Arizona with good friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband George and her sister Patty Watkins of Moline. Survivors include her children, Thomas (Karen) Westcott, La Quinta, California; Janice (Pete) Wessel, Rockledge, Florida; Marilyn (Randy) Williams Longmont, Colorado; grandchildren Erik (Kim) Williams, Avon, Colorado; Adam (Amanda) Williams Longmont, Colorado; great grandchildren Bella, Tristan, and Jasper of Avon; Jude and Dixon of Longmont; beloved nieces Sue Anne, Bettina, Heidi, and Rebecca and her lifelong best friend Marlyn Hodson of Moline.
