Ethel Louise Boice
March 23, 1930 – June 1, 2021
Ethel Louise (Tommy) Taylor Boice died after a long illness on June 1, 2021. She was 91. She was born March 23, 1930 to Sherman C. Taylor and Jessi Underwood Taylor in Littleton, CO. She lived in Platteville, CO until her father died in 1936. Her mother and two sisters Patsy and Mary then moved to Gunnison, CO with their stepfather. She lived on various ranches in Colorado: the Redding Ranch, Drinker and Emmert Ranch and the Bar JH. She attended Paragon School in Gunnison, the Lone Star School in Pueblo, CO and various others before graduating from Brighton High School.
She married her cowboy Clint Jackson Boice after he returned home from WWII in 1949 after meeting him on the Bar JH Ranch. They moved to Colorado Springs, then on to Denver while growing their family with Danny, Becky and Jack. Danny died July 6, 1973. She worked at Cresses in Downtown Denver when she was young then worked at All Saints Catholic School and Magdelin Gardens in Denver and Foothills Care Center in Longmont.
Ethel loved her family dearly and her state of Colorado, the mountains, streams, camping and picnics. She enjoyed cooking, reading, painting and making beautiful quilts.
She is survived by her daughter Becky Cole and her husband Ron Cole, her son Jack Boice, granddaughter Addie Cole, her niece Mary Martin, her nephew Patrick Anderson and her good friend Bud Cohee.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clint Jackson Boice, her sisters Patsy Lanore Liebert and Mary Alice Anderson and her son Danny Clint Boice.
