

Maurice 'Bud' Ruge died of natural causes April 13, 2011 at his home near Fort Lupton, Colorado.He was born March 5, 1950 in St. Mary's Hospital, In Nebraska City, Nebraska to his parents Maurice Louis Ruge and Sophie Marie (Stubbendick) Ruge. He had one brother, Larry Gene Ruge, and one sister, Lila Mae Ruge.Bud grew up on a farm in Ot County, Nebraska, and attended rural elementary school in Ot County, NE, attending church at North Branch Lutheran Church. He graduated from Syracuse High School in 1968, and obtained an Associates Degree in Ornamental Horticulture from the University Of Nebraska School Of Technical Agriculture in 1971.He married Virginia ˜Ginny' Elizabeth Thompson on November 28, 1970 at the Baptist Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska. They were blessed with two children: Matthew David Ruge and Jared Emory Ruge. He was very proud of his grandchildren: Dezi-Ry Ruge, Isaac Ernst Ruge, Kyla Ruge and Genna Ruge. Bud was looking forward to the birth of his fifth grandchild due in September 2011. Bud was a Master Plumber and the sole proprietor of Buddy Plumbing from 1988 through 2008. In April 2008, he began working at Denver International Airport in Facilities Maintenance Division, a job that he really enjoyed. Bud owned small acreages. He raised elk on his farm in the 1990s, then later raised South African B r goats.Along with his two sons, Bud volunteered his time and talent to do the plumbing on the 1994 expansion of Rinn United Methodist Church. He had a warm and friendly personality; no one was ever a stranger to Bud.Activities he enjoyed included boating, archery, snow skiing, water skiing, four wheeling, auctions, and spending weekends at the lake in Republican City, NE. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sister, and son Matthew.He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ginny; their son Jared and wife Rachel and their daughters Kyla and Genna; grandson Isaac and granddaughter Dezi and their mother Kelly Ernst; nephew Ward Ruge, and nieces Pam Lefferdink, Tina Kuhr, and Jenny Meyer, and six grand nephews and two grand nieces, as well as a host of family and friends.A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 11AM at Rinn United Methodist Church, 3783 Bella Rosa Parkway, Frederick, CO 80504 (also known as Weld County Rd. 20). A light lunch will be served after the service. Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 11 AM a second memorial service will be held at North Branch Lutheran Church, 1434 N 30th Rd, Avoca, NE 68307. Cremation is under the care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Inurnment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Ft. Lupton. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Fellowship International for youth and prison ministries.
