Donald Whayne Choate

February 24, 1947July 2, 2014

Choate, Donald Whayne “Don” 67, passed away July 2, 2014. Don worked for many years as an electrician for IBEW Local 369. He was also a faithful member of Shawnee Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Juanita Choate and nephew Timothy VanHaverbeke. Don leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Brenda Choate, children Richard Choate (Michelle), Jackie Mooney (John) and Thomas Choate (Megan) and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Donna VanHaverbeke (Michael), a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews and his beloved mother-in-law Edith Hartman. A service honoring the life of Don will be held Tuesday at 11am at Shawnee Baptist Church 2214 Bank Street Lou, KY with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5-8pm at the church and will resume Tuesday morning at 9:30 until the start of the funeral. Jackie and I are so sorry for your loss. I remember those days when I would go down stairs and set with Bro Don and we would watch basketball and the news together will Jackie was upstairs with the ladies doing the stamping up things that they did. Bro Don was always an easy person to talk to as well. Heaven is getting sweeter everyday!

Shird and I knew Don and Brenda way back at Beth Haven Baptist Church. Such a wonderful person and Christian. He truly loved the LORD and will be missed by many.
