Cape, Larry “Grandpa” R., 70, of Louisville, KY, passed away October 23, 2019.

He was an Army veteran and retired from the Louisville Metro Police Department after 30 years. Larry was a UK fan, avid bird watcher, and nature lover. He is deeply loved by his family and will always be remembered as a loving partner, father, and grandfather.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Orville R. Cape; and his mother, Deloris Hawkins.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved partner of 34 years, Rita Derringer; daughters, Jennifer Adams (Justin) and Tanya Blocker (Neil); sons, Christopher Cape (Stacie) and Thomas Derringer Jr. (Julie); loving grandchildren, Jacob Derringer, Joshua Derringer, Patrick Blocker, Matthew Blocker, Paxton Adams, Nicholas Cape, and Alexander Cape; and many other family members.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 10 am at Evergreen Funeral Home Dignity Chapel with entombment at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2 pm-8 pm at the funeral home.
