Norma Blake

Norma Blake, 92, passed away on July 25, 2014 at Oaklawn in Middletown.

She was born in Brooklin Maine to the late Omar and Bernice Friend. Mrs. Blake was the oldest of nine children, her three siblings; Basil Friend, Philip (Linda) Friend and Muriel Freeman still reside in Maine. Mrs. Blake is preceded in death by her husband Robert Blake, and a daughter Sharon.

She is survived by her daughters, Elaine (Leon) Wood of N.C. and Gloria (Mike) Craycroft of Louisville. Four grandchildren, David (Priscilla) Wood of N.C., Daniel (Becky) Wood of N.C. and James and Joel Craycroft of Louisville.

Mrs. Blake was a wonderful Christian example to her family and others and was known for her delicious cooking and baking skills. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 3pm Monday, July 28, 2014 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. with interment at Resthaven Mausoleum. Guests are invited to attend a visitation from 2-3 the day of the funeral.
