Wendy I send my prayers of peace and comfort to you and your children. I'm so sorry that I will never get the chance to meet you and the children, I'm equally sorry that I did not get the chance to say a final goodbye to my brother. May God bless my baby Brother's soul and keep your family in His Loving Grace. 😢🙏

I remember being at your house one time and witnessing how hard Spiro was working around it on the weekend. He had sweat rolling down his face and this big smile on his face as he was working his tail off. I looked at him and asked, "Spiro, you are working so hard and doing so many things. How do you keep that smile on your face? I'd b grumpy & exhausted." And he looked at me and said, "Well, it doesnt help anything to be the alturnative."

I had the pleasure to meet this very special man, Spiro while in Costa Rica. We enjoyed great conversations in the resort’s pool and during various activities. Wow did we laugh! It was evident Wendy was his love and Spiro was hers. May his spirit continue with you Wendy, and your family.

I have lot of memories of Spiro. The things about him most the amount of love he had for everyone and everything. As everyone had stated is his smile. He could light up a room with it and his light hearted personality. How he was always laughing. He was always there for me when I needed it. I will always be grateful for that. I love Spiro, Wendy, Kennedy & Ben.

Its been a sad week here at North Oldham Fire Department. The department is not the same without Spiro around. One of my favorite times of day used to be when Spiro and the kids popped in for a visit after pick up time at school. The crew would wander in and we would joke, laugh and stuff Kennedy and Ben full of candy from Joannie's desk. Spiro always lit up the room smiling and slinging jokes around. We where lucky to have him as an important part of are team. We Will miss you Brother

We were fortunate to have Spiro, Wendy, Kennedy & Ben visit our family cabin in Minnesota for 4th of July. It was a great time with what I consider family. Wendy and I grew up together as did Jeff and my brother Scott.
Back to the cabin memory...on one of our days together, we decided to go tubing. Spiro, being the good sport he is, joined in the fun. When it was his turn to join Kennedy in the water on a tube next to hers, he stood up in the boat, put on his life jacket, pulled his goggles down and jumped in; yes that's correct goggles. We all just smiled. It's a great visual I have of Spiro sitting (not laying) in his tube with his swim goggles on and just enjoying the ride. We love you! You have a wonderful wife and two amazing kids. They will all be unconditionally loved until you meet again.
Here is a pic from our time together.

Wendy, Spiro, and the kids came down to Chattanooga last year to visit and participate in a triathlon. We had the chance to get to know each other better and just have fun. While waiting for Wendy to finish her race I told him how much fun it was to have them come and visit. His response was “always up for a good adventure” with that great smile so many have mentioned. Sticks in my mind and always will. My heart aches for the entire family and hope God’s peace will comfort you all through this tragic loss.
