Vicki Sue Borders, 59, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 after a courageous 5 year battle with Multiple Myeloma Cancer.

She was born July 15, 1961 in Louisville, the daughter of Edward G. Flamm and Phyllis (Hadfield) Flamm. She was preceded in death by her mother.

Vicki worked at U of L Dental School for 18 years and had also worked at ValuMarket for many years. She enjoyed spending time at her home away from home, Hilton Head, SC.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Phillip J. Borders; children, Erika Gardner, Nikki Coulter, Melissa Gilbert and Nick Borders; 8 grandchildren; her father, Edward G. Flamm (Freda); and her beloved dog, Trixie.

A service to celebrate Vicki’s life will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 25, 2021 in the Chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3-7 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be given to Lynnhurst UCC or James Graham Brown Cancer Center.

I am just so heart broken. I worked with Vicki at University of Louisville Dental School and we were very close. She was a very sweet lady who never gave up even when she would have setbacks with her illness. She loved coming to work which gave her a way to escape thinking about her illness. She will be missed very much.
