Thomas Mark Santner
February 15, 1949 – May 11, 2021
Tom Santner, D.O.B. 2-15-49, formerly of Fremont, NE and Denver, CO, passed away on May 11, 2021, at his home in Loveland, CO. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Ulric and Rita Santner. He is survived by siblings: Harry (Lucrecia), Ft. Collins, CO; Dick (Ruth), Topeka, KS; Pat Carlson, Littleton, CO; Jane (Tom) Mannion, Cedar Glen, CA; Barbara (Mark Hanneman), Reno, NV; and Jim (Joy), Ft. Collins, CO.
Tom graduated from Archbishop Bergan Central Catholic High School, Fremont, NE, in 1967. He then graduated from the Minnesota School of Business, Minneapolis, MN. He worked briefly for the Gamble-Skogmo Co. in Minneapolis. He then went to work for the Burlington Northern Railroad in Fremont, NE and Denver, CO, where he retired after 40 years of employment.
As a young boy, Tom had a paper route. His customers loved him as he was always prompt and had a great sense of humor. He received great tips. Tom was a quiet gentle soul, meticulous about the upkeep of his car, generous, and very thoughtful. He sent family members funny birthday and Christmas cards, as this was a priority for him. He had a great memory for details. He had a tenacious appetite, especially for Mama Rita’s spaghetti and meatballs (eaten while wearing a white turtleneck), Chinese food, and home cooked meals. He was very interested in family genealogy and hearing from family and friends. He was a great record keeper and could remember dates of important family events.
Services will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Loveland, CO, on July 23 at 10:00 am. He requested cremation and memorial contributions to be directed to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church-Capitol Campaign (Loveland, CO), and; Archbishop Bergan Central Catholic High School, (Fremont, NE).
