Nettie Mae McPherson

Nettie Mae McPherson was born in Lockney Texas on February 28, 1923. She was preceded in death by her parents Lewis Busby and Loree Williams Busby. Also, preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Carl McPherson, sister, Lillian V. Armstrong and son, John T. Hancock III.

Nettie attended Lockney high school and Texas Tech University. She married Elmer Carl McPherson July 2, 1965. She worked for Lubbock Independent School District in the accounting/finance office from 1970-1988 when she retired.

Nettie was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and Rock of Ages Sunday school class in Lubbock Texas.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Jenny Wilson and her husband, John Wilson of Little Elm Texas; Susan Hancock Holtman and husband Robert Holtman from Komawa Oklahoma; 2 great-grandchildren, Julia Mae and Jace Wilson, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 9, 2018 from 6-8pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 1pm at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with interment following at Resthaven’s Memorial Park.

The family suggests donations be given to Rock of Ages Sunday school class, Aldersgate Church 10306 Indiana Ave. Lubbock, TX 79423 and/or First United Methodist Church Plainview Texas.
