

On Tuesday, January 13, 2015 the Lord welcomed home his good and faithful servant, Thelma Addie McGuire Box. Graveside internment will be Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 10:00am at Peaceful Gardens with memorial services following at 11:00am at Monterey Baptist Church.
Thelma was born in Meadow, Texas on June 20, 1921 to Clinton and Ella McGuire. She was one of eight children. Thelma married the love of her life, Earl H. Box, on September 7, 1941 in Wellington, Texas. They were married for 66 years before his death in 2007.
Thelma worked for the Texas School Food Association for twenty plus years as a warehouse distribution manager and later as a cafeteria manager for Slaton Junior High School. She was a long-time member of Monterey Baptist Church. Some of her greatest joys and pleasures were the years spent with her church quilting group, her Sunday School Class, and the Keenager Group.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, five brothers, two sisters and one great granddaughter, Paige Renton.
She is survived by three children: one daughter, Charlotte Madigan, son Hugh and wife Jodie Box, son Stephen and wife Lola Box; six grandchildren: Stephanie and husband Mike Olson, Shoni and husband Damon Wiseman, Shelby and husband Rich Renton, Brandy Madigan, Brian and wife Courtney Box, and Brad and wife Gloria Box; thirteen great grandchildren: Marley and Audrey Olson, Kyle and Luke Renton, McKenna, Alyson, and Brooklynn Box, Lynnli Wiseman, Alejandro, Leticia, Isabel, and Diego Martinez, and Ryder Box.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Monterey Baptist Church Building Fund or Youth Missions Fund.
