Services for Helen R. Pixley Lewis Elliott, 90, of Zavalla, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Steven Forrest officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.
Mrs. Elliott was born February 8, 1928 in Angelina County, Texas, the daughter of the late Fairby (Havard) and Carl L. Pixley. She went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 25, 2018 in a Huntington nursing facility.
Mrs. Elliott was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had been employed with various banks before her retirement to Huntington in 1978. Helen was a member of First Baptist Church, Zavalla and the Texas Air Stream Harbor of Zavalla.
Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Hobart (Dan) Elliott, Jr. of Zavalla; sons, James Lewis of Lufkin and Michael Lewis of Slidell, Louisiana; daughter, Danna Place of Westport, New York; sister, Lavenia Willett of Brookland; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and special friends, Wayne and Donna Oliver of Zavalla.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Elliott was preceded in death by her first husband, James L. Lewis; and brothers, T. B. Pixley and Jimmy Pixley.
The family will receive friends from10:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
