Betty was a devoted wife, mother, and “Mimi”grandmother. She was the daughter of James Robert Davis and Martha Gunter Davis. She is survived by Curtis Gordon Elliott, Sr., her loving husband of 60 years; children, Vickey E. Cliborne and husband Glenn of Moneta, Curtis Gordon Elliott, Jr. and wife Michelle of Lynchburg, and Donna E. Moore and husband Bobby of Lynchburg; grandchildren, R. Hunter Moore and wife Emilee of Lynchburg and Hannah E. Moore of Lynchburg.
Betty was preceded by her brothers, Alfred S. Davis, Clarence E. Davis, Harold C. Davis, and Robert B. Davis and her sisters, Mary D. Morris, Frances F. Riffle, and Shirley D. Burnette.
Betty was a graduate of Brookville High School, worked for F.W. Woolworth Company, did some local modeling, tended to her family household, and was a member of Fairview Christian Church all with a quiet wisdom. She was a reader and gardener, loved to sing, write, send cards, and note her thoughts. Betty loved the Lord, family, friends, and neighbors.
A graveside service will be held at 3 pm on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Fort Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum, with her nephew, Rev. Douglas W. Morris officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Betty’s memory to Centra Hospice, Fairview Christian Church Praise Team/ Youth Ministry, Gleaning for the World, or Samaritan’s Purse. The family would like to especially thank the Physicians and staff of Centra Hospice for their wonderful care.
