She was born in Brattleboro, VT on August 11, 1928, daughter of the late Dalton and Pauline Ayer. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Grant and Frank Holt; brother, Paul Ayer and sister, Marilyn Burbank.
Verna was retired from Big Brothers Big Sisters and was a member of Tree of Life Ministries. In her early years she was very athletic and enjoyed swimming as well as being a life guard. She was a Boy Scouts and Girl Scout leader, and enjoyed playing the organ and piano. Later in life she volunteered with Shalom International Outreach and Truckers for Christ.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie Wrape and husband, Armin, as well as 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Tree of Life Ministries with Pastors Mike Dodson and Don Webb officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 5:00 pm.
