Born in Lynn, Al was the son of the late Albert J. and Mary (LaPointe) Farese. He was raised in Lynn and later moved to Miami, FL, where he lived for over 60 years before returning to Lynn.
Al enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a paratrooper and during that time, he became a professional boxer. He was very proud of his “sparring” with Mohammed Ali. He was honorably discharged as a PVT-2 in 1954.
An accomplished artist, Al also enjoyed singing.
He leaves his brothers and sisters, Gerald Farese of Lynn, John Farese and his wife Sharon of Mooresville, IN, Dolores Ausiello of Lynn, Sandra Farese of Lynn, Jane Reagan of Conway, SC and Janice Bourque and her husband Roland of Conway, SC. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Margie Farese of Ashland, MI as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was the brother of the late Elizabeth Richard and the Honorable Anthony Farese.
At Al’s request, Funeral Services will be private.
