James J. Fee, Jr. age 89 of Lynn, passed away peacefully at Rosewood Nursing & Rehab in Peabody on March 15, 2018. He was born on January 30, 1929 in Lynn, the son of the late James J. Fee, Sr. and Mary (Heffernan) Fee. He was raised and educated in Lynn and attended Lynn English High School. Jim was working at GE River Works when he met his wife, Catherine. He worked for St. Pius V Church in Lynn for 42 years as the property custodian. He always took great pride in his work maintaining the church. He and Catherine both retired at the same time in 1997. They built their dream home in East Wakefield, NH. Jim enjoyed working part-time at the IGA in Wolfboro. He also loved to be working outside in the garden or just cutting the grass. Jim was a huge Red Sox fan. He also followed both Boston College and Alabama’s “Crimson Tide”. He fondly remembered the time that he had lunch with Bear Bryant one day. He was an avid golfer who also liked to go bowling in the Couples League at Lucky Strikes on Sunday Night. He was a member of the “Meadowlarks”. Jim started the Royal Strutters Drill Team with his friend, Jack Plummer. He was the Drum Corps Housing Coordinator for the World Open Drum Corps competition held every August at The Manning Bowl for many years. Jim was a true people person who loved to tell his stories or jokes to friends and family. Family was a big part of Jim’s life and he loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
Jim was pre-deceased by his wife, Kay in 2017. He is survived by his daughters; Karen Grocki of Saugus and Roseline Revilla of Lynn and his grandchildren; Justin Grocki and wife, Mary Kate, Ian Grocki and Brendan Grocki. Jim was also pre-deceased by his sisters; Mary F. Fee and Elizabeth A. Fee and his son-in-law, Ynes Revilla.
Family and friends are invited to attend Mr. Fee’s visitation on Monday, March 19, 2018 from
3-7 PM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, MA 01904. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 1 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Pine Grove Cemetery on Boston Street in Lynn.
