PEABODY - Regina A. (Ostalkiewicz) Meadows, 98, of Peabody, formerly of Lynn and Salem, passed away on Friday, April 19th at her home surrounded by her beloved family. Regina was the devoted wife of the late Alfred Meadows with whom she shared 68 years of marriage.
She was the loving mother of Michael Meadows and his wife, Joanne of Lynn, Althea Hutchinson and her late husband, Samuel of Middleton, Alfreda Maynard and her late husband, Donald of Beverly, and Carol Mear and her husband, George of North Andover; the dear sister of the late Clarence and Arthur Ostalkiewicz, Richard Malewicki and Sophia Welch; the cherished grandmother of 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; and the aunt of several nieces and nephews.
Born and educated in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Marta (Brodski) Ostalkiewicz. She graduated from Salem High School and last worked as a kitchen aide for the Lynn School Department for many years. Prior to that, she worked in retail stores in the area, including as a lingerie buyer for TW Rogers in Lynn for several years.
Regina was a Eucharistic minister at St. Pius V Church in Lynn and St. Michael’s Church in Hudson, FL. She was a founding member and leader of prayer groups at both churches. Regina’s greatest joy in the world was her faith in the Lord, her family, and shopping! She will be remembered for always giving of herself in service to others.
Visiting hours will be held at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Wednesday, April 24th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Thursday, April 25th at 10:00 a.m. followed at 11:00 a.m. by a Funeral Mass at St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple St. Lynn. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody will be private.
