June 7, 1928December 1, 2012

Ellen Hennessey, 84, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2012. Ellen was born on June 7, 1928 to Johann and Klara Franzinger in Mannheim Germany. In 1954 she married Philip Hennessey and moved to the United States. Settling in Western Washington, Phil and Ellen raised their children Carole Ann and Brian. Ellen volunteered at Lynnwood High School in the late 70’s, where she assisted the German Language teacher. Ellen was proudest of her U.S. citizenship and adopted Irish heritage. She always had a cheerful attitude and personality which served her well, winning a battle against breast cancer. She is now re-united with her sisters, Gerta Kast and Anna Schebesta. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Philip Hennessey, daughter Carole Ann Hennessey, son Brian Hennessey and wife Katie, granddaughter Riley Ann Hennessey, and many other friends and relations. Remembrances can be made to the American Cancer Society. Services will be at Purdy & Walters – Floral Hills in Lynnwood, Thursday December 6 at 1:00.

I was very sad to learn of the passing of our dear Mrs. Hennessey. Brian and I attended school together and were in the same graduating class. I met Mrs. Hennessey for the first time when I was one of her students in the 2nd year German class at Lynnwood High School 1979 -'80. Our entire class loved her. She was small in stature but large in life. Mrs. Hennessey made our days brighter just by being a part of them. I was blessed to be able to keep in touch with her from time to time over the years. She was so overjoyed to share the news of the arrival of her granddaughter. Our sweet Mrs. Hennessey will be dearly missed. Heaven has a new angel. My deepest sympathy to Brian and the Hennessey family. May the Lord be with you and comfort you during this heartbreaking time.

Dear family,

I was very saddened to hear about, Ellen passing. She was someone that really lived every day to the fullest. While I know that words are only a small gesture of support, I want you to know that her spirit has touched many people's lives as it has mine. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love,

Aunt Connie

Well, I will remember her as Mrs. Hennessey. Brian and I where good friends in High School and I got to know his parents. Mrs. Hennessey also helped out at the High School. She was a nice lady. She put up with alot of crap from teenage boys, and she put us in our place even though she was smaller than us. I remember her and my mom on a parents day at the high school talking about Brian and I , and we cringed when they had their talk.
to Mr. Hennessey, Brian and Carol, I am sorry for your loss and hope you get though these tough days.
