Hazel Walker was born on April 4, 1923 in Van, Texas to parents Joseph Benjamin and Ida Ila (Odom) Lovejoy and entered into eternal rest on March 22, 2019 at the age of 95. She graduated from Van High School. Hazel was a very sweet lady and would do anything for anyone, especially her grandchildren. She never met a stranger. Hazel loved to do yard work and tend to her flowers. She enjoyed watching baseball and The Texas Rangers were her favorite team. Hazel also loved to crochet and was quite good at it. She was Baptist by faith and was a member of Faith Community Baptist Church. Hazel was an amazing lady who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd James Walker Sr., son Lloyd James Walker Jr., son David “L.D.” Walker and step-daughter Carolyn Salley.
She is survived by her daughter Joyce Noack and husband Clarence of Dallas, grandsons; David Walker of Malakoff, Adam Walker of Malakoff and Les Salley and his wife Tish of Somerset, WI, granddaughters; Candy Jonas of Malakoff, Tahitia Carroll of Malakoff and Aleta Whipple and her husband Karl of Whitewright, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, other loving family members and many more lifelong friends.
