William David Burks was born on August 21, 1947 in Dallas, Texas. He was adopted as a toddler by William Joseph Burks and Mary Alene Nelson Burks. David entered into eternal rest on July 5, 2020 at the age of 72. David was a huge Elvis fan and entertained as an Elvis impersonator for many years. He enjoyed music, especially the drums, which he learned to play at an early age. David had a big heart, loved readily, was sensitive and was very sentimental. He loved his adoptive parents dearly. He often recounted all the times his dad took him to Colorado to hunt and fish. He also loved hunting and fishing with his good buddy, Allen Reed in Gun Barrel City, Texas. David will be missed by all who knew and loved him Preceded in death by his parents, brother Jimmy Mooney and girlfriend Brenda Hopkins. Survived by his step-sisters Cynthia Daniels and Patricia Allspaw, both of Boca Raton, FL, as well as other loving family members and good friends.

We attended N R Crozier Tech High in Dallas. We went together to his prom in '67 and he went to my prom in '68. We stayed in touch over the years, sometimes not speaking for a few years, then we would be in touch again. He enjoyed Elvis and made friends with several Elvis Tribute Artists in the DFW area. He loved his dogs.
David will be missed.
