Beverly J. Dahlstrom, 91, of Rockford, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. Beverly was born on January 13, 1928 in Rockford, the daughter of Hjalmar and Anna (Nystrom) Johnson. She married Paul Gilbert Dahlstrom on October 21, 1949 at Temple Baptist Church, Paul preceded her in death on October 18, 2011. Beverly was a lifelong active member of Temple Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, was a Sunday School Teacher, deaconess, she worked in the library, greeter, was on the prayer chain and head of the Funeral Luncheon Committee. Beverly was a CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship) volunteer and worked for National Lock for 18 years. Beverly is survived by her daughter Judy (Dick) Huffington; sons Steve (Sue) Dahlstrom, Mark (Sally) Dahlstrom and Dave Dahlstrom; grandchildren Andy (May) Huffington, Sarah (Rob) Gadamowitz and Paul Dahlstrom; great-grandchildren Will, MacKenzie, Isaac, Logan and Cody; several nieces and nephews. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Roy and Marshall; five sisters Frances, Edith, Doris, Mae and Ruth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Temple Baptist Church, Rockford Rescue Mission or SonSet Solutions 2830 17th Street in Elkhart, IN. The family wishes to thank the staff at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center for all the loving care that was given to our mom.
A memorial service to celebrate Beverly’s life will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center 3470 N. Alpine Road in Rockford; visitation for Beverly will be from 1:30 until time of service at Fairhaven. Entombment at Sunset Memorial Gardens was private.
