Vera M. Forte, 83 of Rockford, IL died unexpectedly Sunday, March 4, 2018. Born in Curtis, AR on March 13, 1934, to Julius and Alberta (Goza) Horton. In a life well celebrated, Vera fashioned her life in many capacities around her church, Pilgrim Baptist. She was a longtime member of the Lydians Womens Auxiliary. Vera defined herself with her beautiful hat collection, which emulated her loving personality. She will be dearly missed by her daughter and best friend, Audrey.
Survived by daughter, Audrey Forte; sister, Marcella Allen; many living nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister, Ruby Brown; brothers, Michael and Julius Horton.
