James T. Harnack, 93, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Pine Pointe Hospice. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 24 at 3 p.m. at Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time. Burial will be private at Georgia Veterans Memorial Gardens. The family suggests that donations be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210.
Mr. Harnack was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Chris Dixon Harnack and Irene Agatha Quinn Harnack. He was a Lieutenant with the U. S. Navy and served during World War II. Mr. Harnack was a graduate of Carnegie Tech with a degree in Architecture and was self-employed as an architect. He was former President of the State of New Jersey American Institute of Architects.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Harnack of 67 years; sister-in-law, Lee George; and numerous nieces and nephews.
