Jewel Donald Crenshaw, 86, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 24, at 1 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery, North Gate. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Shriners Hospital for Children, Georgia Masonic Home, 1417 Nottingham Drive, Macon 31211 or donor’s favorite charity.
Jewel was born in Greenville, SC to the late William Robert Doyle Crenshaw and Annie Bell Reynolds Crenshaw. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Joe, sister Dorothy Nix, brothers Doyle, Nelson Sr., and Harold Crenshaw. Jewel was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He served his country in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict. Jewel was a Master Machinist for the U.S. Government working at the Naval Ordnance Plant in Macon, Charleston Navy Yard and Naval Air Station Atlanta where he retired.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marie Rivers Crenshaw; children, Donald (Kim) of Marietta; Carole and Keith of Waxhaw, NC; four grandchildren, brothers, Jimmy (Connie) of Augusta, Chris (Elana) of Durham, NC, David (Kathy) of Jeffersonville; numerous nieces and nephews; and former wife and mother of his children, Dorothy N. Crenshaw.
The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice Care for their services especially Kaitlyn Hutto, Rushannah Faulkner and other staff members for their loving care.
