Kate “Kitty” Pope Thompson, 96, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 surrounded by her family. A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Howell officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Serenity Hospice, 1057 N. Houston Road, Warner Robins GA 31093.
Kitty was born in Tifton, GA to the late Henry L and Betsy W. Pope. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Thompson. Kitty was retired from the Medical Center as an Executive Administrator in the Pharmacy Department and was a former member of the Macon Christian Women’s Club. She was a devoted Christian and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.
She is survived by her daughters; Gloria (Tom) Gash of St. Simons, Carol (Richard) Tomberlin of Macon, grandchildren; Darrel (Andrea) Tomberlin, Mark Tomberlin, Jason (Eden) Tomberlin, Butler Norman, Emily Caroline Pernoll, great grandchildren; Taylor Tomberlin, Savannah Tomberlin, Reagan Tomberlin, Alexis Tomberlin, Lily Tomberlin, and William Pernoll, brother, Robert M. Pope and several nieces and nephews.
