Lucile Cagle Toole

Lucile Cagle Toole, 93, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021. A Celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry St. The family will greet friends from Noon to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Riverside Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Duke officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vineville Methodist Church, 2045 Vineville Ave., Macon GA 31204 or to the Methodist Home for Children & Youth, 304 Pierce Ave., Macon GA 31204.

Mrs. Toole was born in Mayfield, Georgia and was an honor graduate of Warrenton High School and continued her education by attending The Business Training College in Macon.

She was a homemaker and formerly was employed at Wesleyan College. She was also co-owner of the Men’s Warehouse Clothing Store in Macon. She taught Bible Classes from many years and was a faithful member of Vineville Methodist Church. She was a member of the Ed Cook class as well as the Mack Anthony class. She also held offices in the United Methodist Women’s. Lucile was an active volunteer. She along with her late husband volunteered at American Red Cross blood drives for over 35 years, and at the Methodist Children’s Home for over 10 years. She was active with many organizations in Macon especially Showcase each year. She loved traveling and enjoyed activities with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Addie Cagle and Arthur Erwin Cagle, She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John Franklin Toole, her brother, Lamar Tarpley and sisters, Mary Hobbs and Daisy Matthews.

Mrs. Toole is survived by her son, John Toole Jr. (Jenny), daughter, Lynn T. Neville (C.L.), grandchildren, Cristy Holmes, Tracey Toole (David Poole), Kimberly Martinez, and Ashley Neville, all of Macon, seven great grandchildren, Autumn Martinez, Ava Martinez, Kylie Neville, Merritt Holmes, Lane Elrod, Tripp Poole and John Poole all of Macon, brother, Wallace A. Tarpley of Johnson City, TN and many nieces and nephews.
