W.H. “Bud” Stuckey, 92, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Duke officiating. The family will meet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, 304 Pierce Ave., Macon GA 31204.
Mr. Stuckey was born in Blackshear, Georgia to the late Henry and Maggie Stuckey. He served in the United States Marine Corp. and was a veteran of Gaudalcanal and Okinawa. Mr. Stuckey was retired from Robins Air Force Base and was a former member of Southside United Methodist Church and a member of Vineville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed being a contributor to View Point in the Macon Telegraph and was a lifelong learner and enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his daughter, Ellen Van Dijk of Macon, son, Jim (Vickie) Stuckey of Byron, grandchildren, Ashley Lanier of Macon, Sheryl De Pree of Decatur, Holly Stuckey of Norcross, Laurie S. Luth of Alpharetta, Ryan Van Dijk of Montery, CA and Nathan Van Dijk of Bakersfield, CA, seven great grandchildren, two sisters, Bernice Lewis of Waycross, Julia Tidwell of Brooklyn, NY and brother, Tracy Stuckey of Cadwell, and several nieces and nephews.
