Mildred A. Newberger

Mildred Ann Newberger passed away March 3, 2019 after a long and full life. She was born October 18, 1928 in Ferndale, Michigan to the late Joseph and Regina Bacik. Millie was the loving wife of the late Robert Newberger. Mildred will be remembered for her fun-loving and independent spirit. She frequently entertained and was always ready for an adventure. She was an avid bowler with a high game of 262. Mildred enjoyed traveling, boating and owned a nice little island. Millie had a lifelong love of animals, she raised and showed miniature schnauzers for many years and spent decades rescuing wild cats. She will be remembered as a feisty woman, never afraid to speak her mind. Generous to family and friends. She will be missed. She was preceded in death by her brothers William Bacik, and Richard Bacik and her sister Rita Bills. Mildred is survived by her son Eric (Nancy) Newberger, son Troy (Brenda Quinlan) Newberger, grandson Ryan (Jacklyn) Newberger, dear friend Margie Drewes, sister-in-laws Rachel Bacik, Evelyn Bibro and Alice Patchen, along with many other friends and family members and her beloved Katie cat. A memorial service will be held March 23rd at Edward Swanson & Son Funeral Home 30351 Dequindre Road Madison Heights, Michigan 48071. The gathering will begin at 2:00 p.m. with the service at 4:00 p.m.
