Doris D. Crews Catrow

She was born in Charlotte County on April 27, 1928, daughter of the late Jessie and Sophie DeJarnette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob R. Catrow as well as two sons, Michael J. Crews and Richard E. Crews, Jr.

Doris was a retired supervisor with 26 years of service at the Odd Fellows Home. She loved to cook and going out with friends to take long drives in the country. While she loved gardening, her expertise with flowers, made her home a showcase that people loved to drive by and look at.

She is survived by a daughter, Joan Crews Montgomery and husband Jack; son, Kenneth E. Crews and wife Diane; daughter-in-law, Shirley F. Crews; grandchildren, Dwane E. Crews and wife Michelle, Kim Crews Owen and husband Troy, A. Scott Montgomery and wife Kerri, Kristy Crews Terry and husband Jamie, Tara Montgomery Aqdas and husband Aqdas Muneer, Jessica Crews Creasey and husband Tyler as well as 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her former husband and friend, Richard E. Crews; sister, Amanda D. Crews; sister-in-law, Catherine Crews Robey as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Dr. Lawrence Randall officiating. Interment will follow at Meade Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 – 1:00 pm prior to the service.
