Ola Viar Brumfield

Born in Lynchburg, August 1, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William and Odell Viar. She was retired from Old Dominion Box Company. She was a member of Madison Heights Rebekah Lodge #22, Moose Lodge #1727, the American Legion Auxiliary Post 16 and the church she loved, Calvary Cross Baptist Church. She also enjoyed gardening and planting flowers and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Warren Viar and two sisters, Mae Crist and Josephine Shrader.

She is survived by three daughters, Rachel Wills and husband Malcolm of Elon, Kay Smith and husband Bennie of Concord and Debra Henson and husband Gene of Amherst; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Calvary Cross Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Hudson officiating. Interment will follow in Meade Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Whitten Monelison Chapel and at other times at the home of her daughter Kay.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to a Humane Society of your choice.
