Marjorie Henrickson

January 3, 1936July 2, 2018

Marjorie Henrickson Surf City, NJ Marjorie grew up along the riverbanks of the Delaware River in Delanco, NJ and graduated from Palymyra High School where she was a member of the drama club and a majorette in the Marching Band. She attended the Stenotype Institute of Philadelphia to develop her secretarial prowess, which led to jobs with several law firms and the FMC Corporation in Princeton.

Marjorie met Paul, her husband of 50 years, on a blind date set up by mutual friends and they were married following a brief, whirlwind, courtship. After 2 years of living in Bordentown, the young couple grew roots in the idyllic suburb of Yardville, where they resided for 40 years before retiring to Surf City.

Marjorie overcame a brain tumor the size of a golf ball in 2006 and was subsequently able to check off several items from her bucket list, including a few Phillies games, a trip to the carousel in Seaside, and even an unforgettable family night at a concert by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

Marjorie's passion was to host family gatherings and she spent countless hours in meticulous preparation for these grand events. She showed her undying, unconditional love for her family through her cooking and baking. She also enjoyed shopping, exercising, reading, traveling, completing crossword puzzles and imbibing during happy hour.

Marjorie is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Paul, her loving children, Lance Henrickson and his wife, Dianna, Cathy Henrickson, and Jeri Smith. She is also survived by her three cherished grandchildren; Lori DiPasquale, Sierra and Zachary Smith and his wife Andrea, her four precious great-children; Benjamin and Ron Sanna and Claire and Henry Smith, as well as her three loving step-grandchildren; Anna Riccio, Nicholas Riccio and Nicole Murray.

Her loss leaves a tremendously irreplaceable void to her family. She was its center, its North Star, and its matriarch. Her infectious laugh and contagious smile will forever echo in our hearts.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 with a service at 3:30 at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ.
