Mary Lockwood, 73, of Manahawkin, NJ passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Schenectady, NY, to James and Genevieve Lavelle, she was raised in Rahway, NJ and graduated from Rahway High School in 1962.
Mary retired from a career as a Correction Officer for the State of New Jersey. She spent much of her time at yard sales, gardening, and hiking with her dog Beau. She also enjoyed kayaking and fishing with her brother James.
Mary is survived by her beloved children; son, Garrett Kornek and his wife Shannon and daughter, Jennifer Kirk and her husband Kevin, and her three precious grandchildren, Jack, Alexandra and Molly. She is also survived by her cherished brother, James Lavelle and his wife Janet and her loving niece, Shannon.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, November 1,2018 from 10:00am-12:00pm with a service at 12:00pm at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ
