our sorrow, we would like to invite our family, friends, and neighbors to share in our grief of the
passing of Patrick J. Brazill at Thos. L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Drive, Manahawkin, NJ
on Monday, August 9th, 2021 from 3:00--7:00 pm. There will be a memorial party
accompanying his ashes at a later date.
Patrick, son of Robert and Anne, spent his childhood with his seven brothers & sisters:
Bob, Joe, Chris (Diana), Nancy, Jimmy, Amy (Nathan) and Colleen (John) on a farm in State
College, Pennsylvania where the young thrillseeker loved to jump off hay bales and camp in
cornfields. Patrick and his family spent their summers in North Beach, Long Beach Island, often
accompanied by any of his twenty-seven cousins, riding dirt bikes in the pine barrens, clamming
& boating on the bay. Winter weekends were enjoyed in Seven Springs, Vermont, & Canada,
where Patrick was notorious for nonstop skiing on the slopes with no exceptions for food or
bathroom breaks; his siblings who shared a car ride home with him & his sullied ski suit
respected the dedication...even well past the age it stopped being cute. His passion for skiing led
him to graduate from Northern Vermont University before beginning a successful sales career in
his father’s footsteps at Brazill Brothers & Assoc.
Patrick met his wife, Jennifer chasing down a rogue minigolf ball that mysteriously
bounced onto her putting green. On May 25th, 1991, their wedding reception tee’d off at the
same course and thirty years later their three children still listen to family & friends tell stories
from “the best, most fun wedding” they ever attended. Every anniversary was spent playing a
round of minigolf.
Patrick & Jennifer raised their family in Barnegat, NJ. Evan, the eldest, was born with
his father’s relentless tenacity, love for “a little rock n’ roll”, & passion for life. The power suit
Marlena wears is cut from his same quirky & adventurous cloth, hand-tailored by her dad for
fierce independence. If carbon copies came in sizes six inches larger than the original, Seamus
would be his. The biggest & youngest of the children donns the same handsome face, kind eyes,
& all the love in the world behind them. Patrick’s magnum opus was his role as a stay home Dad.
He savored every minute as the most handsome “PTA Mom”, cheerleading at every sporting
event, chauffeuring across multiple state lines for tournaments, and simply being present when
needed.
Patrick became a hometown celebrity by walking the dogs for miles on the trails, chatting
with everyone along the way, and always smiling at strangers because “you can never have too
many friends.”
Patrick was most described as having a big heart--ironically true in both soul and body.
We’d like to take a moment to recognize the many nurses, doctors and specialists at Thomas
Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA; most specifically Dr. Behzad Pavri, his
electrophysiologist of 25+ years. Thanks to their service and care, Patrick survived several close
calls from God, enabling us to enjoy his presence for years longer than we thought possible.
Finally, on July 31st of 2021 at 9:54 pm, Patrick made his own decision to give God the call to
go home while surrounded by his family who loves him, misses him, & are proud of him.
To know Patrick was to be loved by him. We thank you all for joining us in remembering
the good times shared with such an exceptional father, husband, son, brother, cousin, uncle, icon,
and the very best of friends.
The family request that if sending flowers, please call or visit EVERY BLOOMIN THING 609-693-6969
