Barbara Ann Selick
July 9, 1935 – November 18, 2019
Barbara Ann Selick, 84, of Sea Girt Estates, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2019 at the Rose Garden Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Toms River. Barbara was born in East Orange and raised in Hasbrouck Heights. In her youth, she enjoyed playing a variety of sports, especially field hockey. Barbara was an active member of St. Uriel’s Episcopal Church where she served as a past President of the Women’s Guild. She was very philanthropic, supporting various causes such as the American Cancer Society and overseas children’s charities. Barbara enjoyed going to the beach, camping and traveling to Maine. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Barbara was also an animal lover, avid sewer and loved gardening. She will be dearly missed.
Barbara was predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, Lawrence G. Selick, in February. She is survived by her 4 loving daughters, Barbara and her husband Michael, Carolyn, Anne and her husband Christopher, and Bonnie and her husband Michael; 9 grandchildren; her brother, Robert Taylor and his wife Catherine; and her beloved miniature poodle, Beauregard.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 25, 2019 from 9-11am at the Neary Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South Street, Manasquan, NJ. Funeral Services will be begin at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Glendola Cemetery in Wall Twp.

Barbara was one of my favorite residents at rosegarden. I was one of 1st people to meet her and just loved her sense of humor, my mom passed away 2 years ago but every time I hugged barb it was like hugging my own mom again. One time she was calling the name April and I wasn’t paying attention because my name is sue but it was me she was calling and always called me April so I would answer to it.. she had a contagious laugh and I will truly miss her. My condolences to her family and may she RIP.. luv u barb
